Provence moves into Pavilion 7.2

For their very first trade show, India and Quentin Lefort, of DL2A, the family practice founded by their father Didier, have planted a slice of southern France in the VIP & Press Club.

« In a very industrial hall, we did the reverse: we created our own landscape, then set the project inside it, » says India Lefort. The mural draws on the South of France, where the family has its roots, between Martigues and Marseille.

The space follows the hours of the day. Loungers for daytime, low seating for an afternoon cocktail, then a « village square » framed by a wool rug designed by the agency and woven by Brintons. « We wanted to bring the codes of luxury hospitality out onto the terrace, so it feels as cosy as indoors. »

Overhead, Art et Floritude crafted tree-shaped chandeliers more than 2.80 m across, the largest pieces the company has ever made. For DL2A, which does 80% of its work abroad, this was a first trade show. « We didn’t really know what to expect, » admits Quentin Lefort. « It’s a bet that paid off. »
